Petrogenesis of garnet-bearing phases of the Leatherwood granite

WHAT: In this laboratory/field project you will collect and analyze rock samples from the Leatherwood granite near Summerhaven, Pima county, Arizona. You will investigate garnet-bearing phases of the Leatherwood granite to understand the petrogenesis of this rock. Results from this project will contribute with the understanding of the geological history of the Catalinas mountains.

WHERE: This project will involve lab work at the University of Arizona and field work in the Tucson area.
