North Pacific climate history through growth increments of long-lived clams and trees
WHAT: In this laboratory project you will analyze growth increments of long-lived clams collected from ocean sediments to help build a 1,000 year history of North Pacific climate. These clams, in combination with tree-ring data, will provide context for interpreting the severity of recent economically and ecologically disruptive marine heatwaves.
WHERE: This project will involve lab work at the University of Arizona.
